A healthy mind in a healthy body that is what the adage says. Sports and games have been always given a special consideration from the beginning of the college and on 23rd October 1990, the B.Sc.. degree course in physical education, health education and sports was begun giving a fresh impetus to the pedagogy of sports. When Christ college opened its portals to girls, they were also admitted to the course from the academic year 1992-1993.
Towards the end of 1992 there were six teaching staff, four markers and one attender.
In 1995, the state government undertook the responsibility of financing the course which was renamed as B.P.E., a professional course and this course was inaugurated on 7th February 1996 by the then Minister for Education, Sri. E.T. Mohammed Basheer. The B.P.E. students have excelled in various university and inter-university sports and games and also perform well academically.
