The Executive Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Management (EPGCFM) is conceived with the idea of providing specialized learning in the specific business function of Finance. This programme is delivered through interactive learning mechanism, the programme offers a range of foundation, advanced and interactive courses in the specific functional area for working professionals aiming to build specialized competency in Business Finance.
Programme Objectives
The objective of the Executive Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Management is to impart the key skills that are required to make decisions regarding valuation of assets, hedging, trading and portfolio management and help the participant in managing corporate, banks, financial institutions and regulatory organizations.
Title
Participants of the EPGCFM, on successful completion of the one year long programme, would be awarded the title 'Executive Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Management' by Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode.

The duration of the EPGCFM is one academic year split into four quarters. An academic year normally begins in December/January. Spread over one year, it covers fundamental, competency related and integrative courses, structured to be delivered in about 225 hours. Around 189 hours of learning is through Interactive Learning (IL) platform and around 36 hours of classroom learning through In-campus Module.
In-Campus Component
The in-campus module is held at the very beginning of the Programme & is mandatory to attend. The six day module provides participants an orientation towards case based learning, foundation to analytical thinking and orients them to the learning culture of IIMK apart from discussions on contemporary issues in management practice and trends in the industry and business. Participants have to make own arrangements for their travel and stay.
Interactive Learning (IL) Component
The IL component forms the core of specialization programmes. Instructors from IIMK, facilitate learning through two-way audio/video synchronous telecommunication mode from the Studio based at IIMK Campus. Classes are scheduled on two days a week for three hours each in the year. However IIMK retains the right to change/modify or introduce a different schedule if any arising exigencies so require.
This Programme is currently offered through the technology platform of Times Professional Learning. The technology allows the Instructor to use power point presentations, video, audio, white boards and telastrators to effectively communicate ideas and interact with the participants.Participants can attend the classes from designated class room centers available in major cities in India.
Curriculum
The 12 courses offered are meant to impart management knowledge and skills to the participants covering the latest concepts and techniques in the specific functional area of finance. Faculty from IIMK and distinguished visiting faculty from reputed academic institutions and industry handle these courses.

A Bachelor's Degree* or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate mark or equivalent CGPA.
3 Years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience^ after successful completion of graduation as on start date of the programme.
The participants of these programmes form an interesting mix of working professionals ranging from Executive Vice President to Executives from varied backgrounds like IT, Human Resources, Marketing, Banking, Financial Services and Manufacturing.
^Work experience before completion of graduation will not be considered for calculating total experience. *Bachelor’s degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 (http://www.ugc.ac.in/oldpdf/alluniversity.pdf ) or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
