ACTIVITES 2019-2020

1.Environmental Day

              Department conducted a talk on 'Forests in connection with Environmental Day' by Dr Abdul Basheer at Auditorium  on 13.06.2019

2. Reading Day

              In connection with Reading Week Celebrations department conducted a talk and interaction session with Malayalam writer and author of ‘Susannayude Grandhapura‘ Sri Ajay P Mangatt on 20.06.2019 at Auditorium. 

            Department  also conducted a book Exhibition on 19th and 20th of june 2019. College Principal DR Sr Mable inaugurated the Exhibition in LiessureTower.

3. Association Inauguration

              Famous Malayalam writer, Kerala Sahithya Academi and Vayalar Award winner Sr. K V Mohan Kumar I A S inaugurated Malayalam Association and released department leaflet ’ Malayanma 2019'  on 19.07.2019.

4. Vallathol Smrithi

          Department conducted Vallathol Smrithi on 30.07.2019. Sri Murali Puranattukara recited Vallathol Poems at auditorium.

5. Workshop on Malayalam Computing

           Department conducted a one day workshop on Malayalam Computing on 15.11.2019.

Dr Mahesh Mangalatt and Sri Anoop K V were the resource persons.

6. Seminar on  ThriBhasha Padhathi

          In collaboration with Thunjathezhuthachan Samadhi Foundation, Department conducted a one day seminar on ‘ThribhashaPadhathi’ on 14.11.2019.

7. Ezhuthola Seminar & Paper Presentation Competition

        Malayalam Department Journal club Ezhuthola conducted one day Seminar on Bhasha Asoothranam on 06.01.2020. Dr P Somanathan and Dr R V M Divakaran presented papers. On the same day club conducted Inter University Paper Presentation Competition on Puthukavitha- Akhyaanavum Bhavukathwavum.

8. 'Ujwala' Inter university Versification Competition

        In honour of Dr Sr Lekha former Principal & Head of the Department,we conducted Ujwala Inter university Versification Competition on 11.1.2020.

9. Lochana Quiz

           Department conducted Inter University Quiz programme in memory of first HOD of Malayalam, SR Cruze on 30.09.2019. Dr Fr Sunil Jose, Assistant Professor, Department of Malayalam, St. Aloysius College, Thrissur lead the programme . St Thomas College Thrissur , University College Trivandrum , Govt College Pattambi  bagged first second and third prizes respectively.

10. Toppers  Day

        Department conducted Prathibha Day on 28.06.2019. In this function Department felicitated all the toppers of Semester Ending Exams and outstanding sports stars of the Department. Toppers of the final year U G and PG were awarded with Cash prizes

11. Chavittu Nadakam

     In collaboration with Kerala Folklore Academi , Department conducted Chavittunatakam on 12.12.2019. Professional group from Kochi performed ‘Karal man charitham’ on the stage.

12 Malayalothsavam

          Department celebrated Kerala piravi with various programmes. Conducted Malayaladinam on 01.11.2019 and Malayalothsavam  on 07.11.2019. Principal Dr Sr Beena Jose inaugurated the programme.

13.  Gandhi Smrithi

      Department conducted  Bappu kavyanjali- Gandhiji related Malayalam poem recitation competition on 04.10.2019 in connection with Gandhijayanthi. The winners are Sreedevi  M, 1st Sem Sociology, Manila T M,I st UG  Physics, Sr. Anusha Francis, III Sem MA Malayalam respectively.
