Being a commercial undertaking, all decisions are taken on the basis of “profit maximising” principle, at the same time taking the interests of the various stake holders in to consideration. Being a government company, the company also keep its social obligations in mind while taking decisions.

The Memorandum and Articles of Association  of the company, the service rules of the company, .  The Kerala service rules and  other related rules, Orders, Circulars, instructions etc  issued by the Government of Kerala,  various office orders issued from time to time,  settlements with unions, contracts with customers and principals etc are used by the company and its employees while  discharging its functions.

The company is following the government pay scales and DA system. However there is no pension scheme as in government.

Being a commercial undertaking, KSINC does not strictly following a budget programme. The company have a  income - expenditure projection based on expected business for the year. Expenditures are controlled wherever possible based on the income generated from that wing / business.
