As part of Vimala Astronomy club (VAC) an event named PRAVEGA 19-20 has been conducted on 19th December 2019 at 10.30 am in the Lisseux Seminar Hall. The event was an initiative by the club to spread knowledge and awareness about the upcoming Annular Solar Eclipse on 26th December. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr.Asha P Rao, head of the department of social work. A talk on scientific and other aspects of solar eclipse was conducted by Mr.Santhosh.P.Jose, assistant professor, department of Physics. It was followed by a power point presentation on Nobel prize winners of Physics 2019.Second year students performed a tribute performance in honor of the Space Scientist Kalpana Chawla, first woman of Indian descent to go to space.
Vimala Astronomy Club was inaugurated by Dr.Sr.Ritty J Nedumpara, former HOD of Physics, on 27/07/2018. The club consist of 105 members from various departments. Dr. Aneesh George is the club coordinator. It was followed by Agni 2K18 celebration
